Paypal alternatives: do you have one?

Merle is the author of a book containing a lot of "must know" resources for small businesses, including alternatives to the popular Paypal web based payment system. Excerpts from the book were published by the Site Pro News Newsletter on his June 20th edition
I've worked with Paypal for five years now, and it's been good to me so far, however, I heard stories from customers whose Paypal accounts were frozen for some months due to reasons not always very clear to them.
Paypal is an unexpensive online payment gateway allowing members to start accepting credit cards online, and can be integrated and any shopping cart.

A lunch for your customers?

Althoug not entirely new, this is a great idea posted by John Jantsch at Duct Tape Marketing blog

Business networking meetings happen everyday in every major city in the US, however, doing it for your own customers is a completely different scenario when you are a SB entrepreneur and you have no one but yourself to rely on when it comes to organize the venue.

51 ways to build your homebased business company

Rule 21 at this article published at www.entrepreneur.com

"21. Consider a Web site. Including a Web address on your marketing materials sends a message that your company is a sophisticated, forward-thinking operation."

Well, I agree :). Nowadays, a website is a must for every small company, even home based business. What do you think?

Creating Spam-Free E-Mail

I've just found this, written by Gail F. Goodman in www.entrepreneur.com, a website dedicated to help small businesses in Florida:

"We all get spam in our inboxes--unwanted, fraudulent, illegal e-mail from anonymous senders pushing cheap pharmaceuticals, no-questions-asked credit, even pornography. Spammers must think we're all broke, in pain, impotent or worse. No one wants their legitimate commercial e-mail communications to be confused with this junk."

Since all of us deal with SPAM everyday, I found it quite interesting and innovative.
